The Androscoggin River is 178 miles (287 km) long and winds throughout the states of Maine and New Hampshire. It meets up with the Kennebac River, and then later empties into the Gulf of Maine. There are towns along the riverbanks, including the twin cities of Auburn and Lewiston.
