Rockland Sailing
Schooner American Eagle offers three, four and six-day cruises along Maine's coast aboard a 26-passenger windjammer. All trips take in lighthouses, sealife and unspoiled scenery, as well as a traditional lobster bake on a deserted beach. Cruises also run to the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival in Nova Scotia and participate in the Gloucester Schooner Race Trip in Massachusetts.
Water is fundamental to any Maine coastal visit and the Simplicity Schooner in Rockland gives visitors the opportunity to set sail. Guests can choose from a variety of trips - simple two-hour cruises exploring Penobscot Bay, full-day sails with picnic lunches on nearby islands, sunset sails beyond the Rockland Breakwater or a special tour of Maine's lighthouses. All ages welcome, licensed captain has more than 25 years of sailing experience, trips leave from Rockland Harbor.
Discover Downeast Maine aboard an authentic windjammer. Explore uninhabited islands and fishing villages and see porpoises, seals and eagles. The Maine Windjammer Association features 14 ships that sail from Camden, Rockport and Rockland.
Summertime Cruises offers both day sailing and overnight sailing adventures in the Gulf of Maine. Day sails last either three or six hours, depending on the day of the week and the destination, while three-day sailing trips are available for up to six boarding passengers. Longer trips available.
Schooner J & E Riggin offers midcoast Maine visitors the chance to explore the state's coast via multi-day sailing adventures from May through October. The vessel can accommodate up to 24 passengers, who are welcome to help with hoisting sails and tending the sheet or who can just sit back and enjoy the view.
Schooner Heritage is an owner-operated windjammer offering four and six-day sailing cruises along Maine's coast. Trips run from June through September and can accommodate up to 30 guests. The windjammer is captained by the owners themselves and cruises explore the picturesque harbors and unspoiled islands of Downeast Maine, including stopping at a deserted beach for a traditional lobster bake.
