The museum is open daily from Memorial Day to the Friday following Columbus Day and weekends only from mid April to Memorial Day and Columbus Day to Christmas. Nubble Lighthouse Constructed of cast iron and brick, the Cape Neddick Lighthouse, which is better known as the Nubble Lighthouse, and surrounding grounds are not open to the public but can be seen from Sohier Park nearby. Other buildings on the property include the keeper's house also built in 1879 and the oil house, which was constructed in 1902. The lighthouse is lit-up during the holiday season. Pemaquid Lighthouse & Fisherman's Museum The light-keeper's former house is now a museum that is open to the public seven days a week during the summer. Volunteers open the tower at limited times throughout the summer season. There is no charge to climb the tower or explore the museum, but donations are welcome. The lighthouse was officially operational in 1902 and equipped with a flashing white light. Today, the Friends of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse group are dedicated to the restoration of the lighthouse. Marshall Point Lighthouse The original lighthouse on Marshall Point was built in 1832 but was replaced by the current structure in 1858. A bell tower was added in 1898 and the lamp was first electrified in 1935. Visitors to the lighthouse can learn more about its history at the Marshall Point Lighthouse Museum. Accessible only by boat, the Goat Island Lighthouse is located off of Cape Porpoise Harbor, near Kennebunkport. The light house was built in 1859 and was not automated until 1990.
