    Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve

    Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve encompasses the Laudholm Farm in its 1,600-acre reach. Also a bird sanctuary, the area was chosen because of two rivers adjacent to the farm that flow into the ocean forming estuaries and nesting areas. Visitors can spend the day watching the bird species, walking through the trails and visiting the restored buildings and displays on the property.

    Hill Gardens of Maine

    Hill Gardens is two-and-a-half acres of maintained walk-through idea gardens in the Maine woods. The gardens feature Hosta and Daylily collections as well as demonstrations.     Swan Island

    Open daily from May through Labor Day, by reservation only, the island has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can camp, hike, canoe, kayak, bike and wildlife watch.     Wolfe's Neck Farm

    This all-natural beef farm is located 5 miles outside of town on 600 acres along Casco Bay. The farm is home to cows, sheep, chickens, goats and a donkey.
